Spring has finally come to Gatlinburg. The Springfest celebration allows visitors to this great city to watch as Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains transform into their springtime beauty. The thousands of flowers planted around the city start to bloom and show off their magnificent beauty.
The three-month Springfest celebration offers several events for our visitors to enjoy such as the Easter Arts & Crafts Festival, Ober Gatlinburg’s Annual Easter Sunrise Service, the 59th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, and my personal favorite Gatlinburg’s Ribfest and Wings.
The Easter Arts and Crafts Festival is put on by member’s of the Great Smoky Arts & Craft Community. These talented craftsmen will be displaying their unique handcrafted wares at the Gatlinburg Convention Center from April 8 to April 11.
Ober Gatlinburg’s 12th Annual East Sunrise Service offers free tram rides to the top of the mountain starting at 6:15 a.m. until the service begins at 7 a.m. A breakfast buffet will also be available in the Ober Gatlinburg Restaurant from 7 – 10:30 a.m.
Gatlinburg’s Ribfest and Wings will be held on April 23rd and invites you to try delectable ribs and wings from southeast vendors. Along with the smell of hickory-smoked barbeque, Ribfest features live entertainment and plenty of food for you to taste.
The 59th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is hosted by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the University of Tennessee Botany Department and the Gatlinburg Garden Club. This five day event offers hikers and nature lovers over 150 different hiking tours, demonstrations, lectures and motor excursions to explore springtime in the Smoky Mountains. The pilgrimage runs from April 22 through April 26.
