A little reminder for those interested in some early Fall hiking in the Elkmont area, take note that a couple of trails are closed until October 15. The Little River/Jakes Creek Trail is currently closed until that time due to construction work around making a better parking area for the trailheads s well as a new day use parking area at the Appalachian Clubhouse.  There’s limited passage through the Little River trail, but the Jakes Creek trail is entirely closed at the moment.  If you had plans for one or the other trail, be aware. There is contact information available on the site, which will happily suggest other like trails, among additional information.

See the Great Smoky Mountains National Park website for more information concerning the trails!
