We’ve had a bit of a warm spell here in the Smokies (Well, relatively speaking), but there’s still plenty of cool things to do now that February is around the corner! Let’s take a quick look:
Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee is goingt o be happening at the Country Tonite Theater early in the month, this February 9th through the 10th. Call 1-800-792-4308 for more information and get your tickets for that early Valetine’s Day present!
If you can’t make it until later, there’s the Saddly Up Celebration from the 23rd to the 26th, presenting the best in Western Music and Poetry! There is even a chuckwagon cookoff on Saturday, the 26th for that extra Western flavor! You don’t want to miss this! We don’t have information on where it is located yet and who to call, but we’ll post that at a later date!

It’s that time of year again! Gatlinburg will be doing its midnight parade on July the 4th right at midnight for its 36th year! Hailed as one of the earliest celebrations (In time of day, that is), there are fireworks, parades and more waiting for you and it was voted in the top 20 for events by the Southeast Tourism Society. Nice! Call (800) 568-4748 for more information!
Of course, if you’re not tired from all that late night celebration, why not get up early to attend the River Raft Regatta in Gatlinburg! This unmanned floatable object race will begin at the Christ of the Smokies bridge and ends at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies bridge with prizes given away in several different categories! The same number as above, (800) 568-4748, will give you the information you need so if that sounds like your thing, give it a call!

Some people will tell you that you have to go to Cannes or Sundance to see a film festival. I can tell you different, for we got our very own one here in the Smokies! The Gatlinburg Screeenfest is hitting its third weekend and will have an entire weekend of films for the movie nut to view! The place takes place in The River Terrace Hotel and Convention Center and will have more than just films, including a performance by well-reknown improv troupe Einstein Simplified on Friday. From locally produced independent content to new content from well known stars, this event will have it all. With a unique experience such as this created in the Smokies, it would be hard to miss out!
You can view the entire schedule of events right now and plan accordingly. Hope to see you at the movies!

If you’ve never stayed at the Inn at Christmas Place, you are missing out on a fantastic spectacle of Christmas all year around. TripAdvisor agrees, as it was recently revealed that the Inn at Christmas Place is the #6 Hotel In the United States! Ranking above hotels in major cities and other competition in the nearby area, it has been shown as a prime example of what to experience when you come to the Smokies. It’s easy to see why, as their website shows just a small example of what their rooms and lobby look like. Santa may be resting for post-Christmas, but that’s no excuse to drop by when you’re in town!
Congratulations to the Inn at Christmas Place and here’s hoping for another successful year!
