This year is the 75th anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains. It is also the 75th anniversary of one of my childhood heros, the Lone Ranger. In honor of both these events, the Lone Ranger and Tonto will be bringing western justice to the Smoky Mountains compliments of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad in Bryson City, NC.
This The two weekend special event will take place August 22-23 & 29-30, 2009 and during the time, the masked man and his companion will be protecting the train from armed bandits seeking to steal the gold that is on the train.

Adward winning performer Trace Adkins along with Billy Currington, and Special Guest Jeremy McComb will be in concert on June 23, 2009 at the Smokies Stadium.
Trace won the 1996 ACM Top New Male Vocalist award as well as CMT Male Video of the Year “I Got My Game On” in 2008 and ACM Single of the Year “You’re Gonna Miss This” in 2009.
Billy Currington won the 2006 CMT Music Awards Hottest Video of the Year for “Must be Doin’ Something Right”.

The Annual Dolly Parton Homecoming Parade has changed dates. The new date is May the 8th with the parade starting at 6 P.M. The parade will run two miles down the Pigeon Forge Parkway from traffic light number 3 to light number 6.
This is the 24th year of the parade and as always honors Dolly Parton. This year has a special meaning as Dolly is the official ambassador of the 75h anniversary of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The parade is one of six Pigeon Forge events honoring the National Park.
The parade will feature a variety of floats representing Pigeon Forge theaters, car clubs, equestrian clubs, cheerleading teams, twirlers and high school marching bands. A mainstay participant is the band from Sevier County High School, Parton´s alma mater.

It’s time for the Grand Spring Rod Run in Pigeon Forge. Souped up classic cars will be all over pigeon Forge from April 17th to April 19th and will be held at the Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center.
This years show is sponsored by Hunters Custom Automotive, Ausley’s Chevelle Parts, Camaro Central and ET Motorgear. The show also has a huge indoor and outdoor swap meet with hundreds of vendors and enthusiasts from around the nation.
The Grand Spring Run is the kickoff of car show season and is always jam packed with great classic cars. Please keep in mind that during any car show in Pigeon Forge traffic will always be heavy, so make sure you plan accordingly.

Starting tomorrow, you will notice tons of Chevy Corvettes around Sevierville as the Corvette Spring Expo begins. The Corvette Expo runs this weekend, March 27th and 28th. The main gates open to the public at 9 AM.
The Corvette Expo Spring is promoted by Cooper Event, LLC. The car show includes cars and car parts for sale, as well as a swap meet for race car parts, engine parts, custom and stock wheels, rims and tires new and used for sale.
At 10 AM on Saturday, Thompson – Carr will be holding a car auction. This year they are authorized to auction pre-titled vehicles up to model year 2009.
Prizes will be awarded to car show winners including $1000 award to the Best of Show car.
The Corvette Expo is being held at Sevierville’s new Bridgemont Event Center. The auction will take place on the Bridgemont grounds, outside the events center.
Make sure to visit the show and check out all the beautiful Corvettes that will be on display.
