On the 14th of January, the Titanic Exhibit in Pigeon Forge is going to be holding an Ice Carving Competition! From Amateurs to Professionals, people will come from all around to convert a 250 pound block of ice into an artful masterpiece! From chopping to blowtorches to even chainsaws, this is one art form that I’m sure you will be entertained by! If last year’s competition is to be expected, competitors will start early (9 AM or so) with judging at 3 PM, but we do not have clear times for this year at all. In Pigeon Forge for the New Year and don’t have a party to go to! Then try harder! The Smokies is the place to be for the New Year with the entertainment to back it up! Let’s take a look at only some of them:
- The Party for a Cause to benefit Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center will be on the 31st and feature live music from the band 3CD, playing a variety of different genres for your entertainment! As the heat cools down and we start easing into the fall, it’s easy to forget that this is one of the best times to go hiking in the Smokies. The colors are changing and the temperature is just right for a little bit of Autumn exploring!
This year, the Parks have announced National Hiking Day, an event that takes place this month on the 24th! Families both young and old are encouraged to check out the plentiful trails around the area and find one right for everyone to enjoy the great outdoors!
