Feel like having some good food and bluegrass fun? Dollywood has got you covered! From August 19th to September 5th, Dollywood is hosting its Barbecue and Bluegrass Festival, with six stages throughout the park playing homage to the classic art of pickin’ and grinnin’. If that isn’t enough to satiate your concert going, the 15th Annual World Premiere Gospel Concert is happening at the Grand Resort Hotel Convention Center in Pigeon Forge from August 22-24! Call 1-800-251-4444 for more information.
Finally on August 27th, Gatlinburg will play host to “Vintage Views”, which will showcase classic home movie clips in the Smokies before our current time! Doors open at 5 at the W.L Mills Auditorium to premier the film “Vintage Views of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains”. Get there early to guarantee a seat!

It’s that time of year again! Gatlinburg will be doing its midnight parade on July the 4th right at midnight for its 36th year! Hailed as one of the earliest celebrations (In time of day, that is), there are fireworks, parades and more waiting for you and it was voted in the top 20 for events by the Southeast Tourism Society. Of course, if you’re not tired from all that late night celebration, why not get up early to attend the River Raft Regatta in Gatlinburg! This unmanned floatable object race will begin at the Christ of the Smokies bridge and ends at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies bridge with prizes given away in several different categories! Entering it 26th year, the Dolly Parade will literally take over downtown Pigeon Forge on May 6th! All down the parkway there will be festivities, sales and people celebrating an icon of our area and having an all around good time. Starting at 6:00 PM to who knows when, you can expect everything from entertainers to marching bands to the lead lady herself. All you need to do is show up! I guarantee you it’ll be hard to miss and easy to find a spot. Highly recommended! We’ll do another reminder later on in the week to ensure you have your plans all sorted out.
Also, in other recent news, the Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Show has been open and is the new thing in town to check out! While we haven’t been to it yet, we’ll let you know how it is as soon as we can!

April has come with sun, then showers and hopefully more sun too! The middle of the month will be a great time to visit the Smokies, with all sorts of things going on as the town hits full swing for spring! Here’s a little bit of what you can expect:
- The Yellow Mustang Show, featuring exactly what you would expect, will be taking place from the 14th to the 16th at the Inn at Christmas Place! Not since the sun has there been so much yellow in one location! Music and general gatherings are expected to be going on the entire weekend, so it’s well worth a look! - Music of the Mountains will be playing in Townsend on the 15th, with a variety of Celtic Melodies and good times. You can call the Smoky Mountain Heritage Center at 865-448-0044 for additional information on this demonstration!
- Also on the 15th-16th weekend is the ironclad Mountain Man March, starting in Gatlinburg at 7 AM and going through everything in the country from highways and rural roads to rugged terrain and mountain slopes. It’s the third time they will make the 26.2 Mile march and is done to honor those who have served our country. Their website is down at the moment, but you can call 865-974-885 to learn more.

As the sun comes out the shine a little more, so do the boats! And what better way to kick off a fishing season than with some fine casting in the Smoky Mountains! You can do just that on April 2, when the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament begins! It’s a two day event open to everyone far and wide, with over $10,000 in prizes and fun! Fishing is not the only thing coming out of the woodwork: The Rod Runs will begin again soon! The Spring Grand Rod Run is going to be from April 15 – 17 at the Grand Hotel and Convention Center! Details are sparse at the moment, but as soon as there is more info, it will posted right here! Stay tuned!
