Feel like having some good food and bluegrass fun? Dollywood has got you covered! From August 19th to September 5th, Dollywood is hosting its Barbecue and Bluegrass Festival, with six stages throughout the park playing homage to the classic art of pickin’ and grinnin’. Finally on August 27th, Gatlinburg will play host to “Vintage Views”, which will showcase classic home movie clips in the Smokies before our current time! Doors open at 5 at the W.L Mills Auditorium to premier the film “Vintage Views of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains”. Get there early to guarantee a seat!

From the days as Rebel Railroad to Silver Dollar City to what we now call it today, Dollywood continues to grow and become the premier destination of the southeast. It’s old enough to rent a car now and its still reinventing the way one has fun in the Smokies. So it’s no surprise that there will be a major special based on the theme park on the Hallmark Channel this Saturday! Special guest stars include Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus, Kenny Rogers and– Of course– Dolly herself. I’m sure there are other surprises in the show waiting for you and I, so I suppose we’ll have to tune in (Or DVR!) to find out!

James Rogers is set to perform in at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greenville on February 27. The Pigeon Forge Entertainer will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.
James won the 1983 Silver Dollar City Search for Entertainment and started performing at Dollywood. In 1993, he partnered with The Dollywood Company and opened Music Mansion in Pigeon Forge. His award winning show ran from 1993 until 1998. Currently Rogers is performing a one man show at Dollywood.

Dollywood is unveiling a new attraction in 2010 to help celebrate the 25th anniversity of the amusement park. Adventure Mountain will be unlike any other theme park attraction.
It will be themed after Civilian Conservation Corps-era architecture in the national park. Each part of the attraction will have its own unique features including water features, rock ledges and even rope bridges.
