So you’ve survived another Thanksgiving with the family and almost are through a Black Friday shopping weekend! Now that you’re through with all that chaos, why not slink back and enjoy the sights and sounds that Pigeon Forge has to offer you! Winterfest started in Early November and will be continuing well into the new year with events, lights and spectacle that you can’t experience anywhere else! Here are some examples:

  • Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas has begun. If you haven’t had a chance to see it, do it this year! The entire park is transformed into a Christmas Wonderland with Parades, Shows and food all around! It’s the perfect compliment to your Smokies Vacation!
  • You can tour all the lights by trolley every day in December, starting at 6:30! Tickets are $5. To reserve your time, call the trolly office at 865-453-6444 for more information.
  • Christmas at the Opry, located formerly in the Miracle Theater building, is going on all this Christmas with a light show, food vendors, an ice skating rink, Santa Claus with real reindeer and more! You can’t miss it!

Thanks to Dollywood! Dollywood is gearing up for their Christmas event from November 5th to December 30th and are inviting you along for the ride! Along with the regular Dollywood events, they will have many seasonal festivities to check out, including Christmas on Ice, the Parade of Lights, the Carol of the Trees and more!

On September 9th and 10th, it’s time for the big rod runs to come out again! Taking place at Dolly’s Splash Country, you can expect the best of classic cars to come out in style! The Grand Prize is a ’32 Ford Roadster, with Second getting $10,000! There’s a whole list of events going on, so if you’re a car enthusiast or a general sightseer, there can be guaranteed something for you!

When you go to the Belz, that is! The Belz mall right inside Pigeon Forge is having their Labor Day weekend sale and they invite you to save big on the many stores that they have! Swing on by from the 1st to the 5th and see what’s in store for you!

Similarly, from the 3rd to the 5th is The Christmas Place’s Labor Day Tent Sale. If you want to save big on Christmas goodies well before Christmas Madness begins, start here! It’s right on the parkway as you enter Pigeon Forge, so you can’t miss it!

Feel like having some good food and bluegrass fun? Dollywood has got you covered! From August 19th to September 5th, Dollywood is hosting its Barbecue and Bluegrass Festival, with six stages throughout the park playing homage to the classic art of pickin’ and grinnin’.  Check here for more information.

If that isn’t enough to satiate your concert going, the 15th Annual World Premiere Gospel Concert is happening at the Grand Resort Hotel Convention Center in Pigeon Forge from August 22-24! Call 1-800-251-4444 for more information.

Finally on August 27th, Gatlinburg will play host to “Vintage Views”, which will showcase classic home movie clips in the Smokies before our current time! Doors open at 5 at the W.L Mills Auditorium to premier the film “Vintage Views of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains”. Get there early to guarantee a seat!
